The Fleming County Fiscal Court has scheduled the National Flood Insurance Program Coordinator to be available on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 3 p.m. till 4:30 p.m. at the County Judge/Executive’s office for individual flood insurance program concerns. Jesse Lee Hodges

1983 – 2010

MOREHEAD – Jesse Lee Hodges, age 27, of Triplett Creek Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born January 10, 1983, in Lexington, Kentucky, and is the son of Steve and Cindy Spears Hodges of Hillsboro, Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Shayne Gilbert Hodges, whom he married June 7, 2008; one step son, Kyler Gilbert and one step daughter, Shelby Gilbert, both at home; one sister, Stevi Hodges of Hillsboro, Kentucky; paternal grandmother, Norma Ellington Hodges of Morehead, Kentucky; maternal grandparents, Betty Spears of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and Jim and Marsha Spears of Franklin, Kentucky; one niece, Maci Leigh Crain; one nephew, Trace Allen Hodges; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Leroy Hodges, in 2009, and a cousin, Jason Scott Hodges, in 2007.

Jesse was a heavy equipment operator for Demolition Disposal Services in Clark County, Kentucky. Jesse was a 2001 graduate from the Rowan County Senior High School and attended Morehead State University. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Kentucky basketball.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mark Caldwell, Rev. Jeff Fannin, and Rev. Tim Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Black Family Cemetery on Sharkey Road.

Pallbearers will be Dakota Newsome, Kelly Sargent, Justin Morehouse, Robert Ramey, Anthony Adkins, and Daniel Hunt. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Crain, Adam Hinton, Nathan Hinton, Corey Stevens, Josh Brown, and Matthew Hinton.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

FCHS Student suspended for threatening to kill classmates

A female student, who is senior at Fleming County High School, was suspended early this week for allegedly threatening to shoot and kill other students at the school, according to police.

Robert Orem is investigating the case at this time.

Mr. Kilgore

MAY'S LICK -- Richard G. Kilgore, 68, of Flemingsburg died Monday at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. He was an electrician and an Army Veteran.

Mr. Kilgore was born in Mason County, Feb. 10, 1942, son of the late Richard S. and Clara Ethel Grisby Kilgore.

Survivors include two daughters, Loura Caffey of Tennessee and Katrina Kilgore of Flemingsburg; a son, Richard S. Kilgore of Tenn; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Edith Swanger of May's Lick; and two brothers, Bill Kilgore of Lawrence, Kan. and John Kilgore of Logansport, Ind.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Denny Kilgore.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday at Kingdom Hall on U.S. 68 Maysville.

Mr. O'Brien

FLEMINGSBURG - William Scott O'Brien, 87, of Flemingsburg died Tuesday at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg. He is survived by his wife, Geneva Manning O'Brien.

William Carley Scott, age 77, a resident of Leitchfield, KY for fifteen years, passed away Saturday (March 13, 2010) at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on July 13, 1932, in Flemingsburg, KY, the son of John D. and Iolene Davenport Scott. He was formerly employed at IBM in Lexington, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of KY, and retired from Vermont American Corporate Office in Louisville in 1990. He graduated from the Flemingsburg High School, and was a graduate of the University of Kentucky. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #2 of Paris, KY, and a member of the Kosair Shriners. He enjoyed the U.K. Wildcats, golfing, water skiing, and home cooking. The family feels they would need an entire page to describe how wonderful, witty, and caring their father/husband was, and simply state that he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Boone Scott of Leitchfield; two sons, Stephen C. Scott (Darci) of Louisville, and Dr. C. Jeff Scott (Nancy) of St. Petersburg, Florida; six grandchildren, Sarah, Catie, Hunter, Will, Emily, and Drew Scott; four brothers, George Scott of Independence, KY, James and Marion Day Scott both of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jack Scott of Ocala Florida; several nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Wanda Cleveland, Merilyn Searcy, and Mary C. Scott; four brothers, John Scott, Jr., Robert A. Scott, Jesse Scott, and Kenny Scott.

Cremation was chosen, and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. The Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield is in charge of arrangements.

There will be no formal services, but the family welcomes and would greatly appreciate any personal remembrances you would like to share with them, either written or in person.

Mr. Ward

MAYSVILLE -- James Allen Ward, 56, of Lexington and formerly of Maysville, died March 8, 2010.

He was born Feb. 22, 1954, to the late Julia F. and James C. Ward.

James was preceded in death by three brothers, Austin E, Wilson, Tom Wilson and Robert C. Wilson; and one sister, Bonnie Hilterbrand.

He is survived by one son, Shane Ward of Flemingburg; three sisters, Julia Ellis, Shirley Meyer and Judy Willison, all of Maysville. and one brother, Dan Mattox of Flemingsburg.
