Mrs. Jett

Leota Hawkins Jett, 79, of Jett Lane, Wallingford passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010, at the Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg.

Born Dec. 3, 1930, in Fleming County, Leota was the daughter of Eugene and Belle Porter Hawkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Rae Riggs; one brother, J. B. Hawkins; and her son, William Eugene "Billy" Jett, who passed away Aug. 19, 1994.

Leota is survived by her husband of 62 years, Eugene Jett, whom she married Feb. 25, 1948; one son, Johnny Jett and his wife, Donna of Wallingford; one grandson, Johnny Gene Jett; and two great-grandsons, Jonathan Jett and Nicholas Jett.

She is also survived by one sister, Barbara Dye of Fleming County; four brothers, Danny Hawkins, Ricky Hawkins and Mike Hawkins of Hillsboro and Curtis Hawkins of Fleming County; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jett was employed by the Randall Company for several years and retired from the U.S. Shoe Corporation after 23 years of service. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at the Hutton Funeral Home with Dr. Jack Ellis and the Rev. Richard Short officiating.

Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leota's four brothers, George Dye and Jimmy Rogers.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today, May 18, 2010, at the Hutton Funeral Home, Hillsboro.

Mrs. Fidler

Helen Jean Fidler, 84, wife of Dr. Robert W. Fidler, of Sarasota, Fla. died Saturday, May 8, 2010.

She was born in Ashland on Oct. 1, 1925, to the late Charles and Carrie Saunders Hammond.

She is survived by one daughter, Robyn Jean Fidler of Oriental, N.C.; one son, Jeffrey Charles Fidler of Flemingsburg; one sister, Jo Ann Kilgore of Nicholasville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Jo Fidler Hall.

Private graveside services will be at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Marvin W. Suit officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery.

Visitation at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, is 6-8 p.m. today.

Mr. Hamilton

Henry Clay Hamilton, 73, well-known farmer and landowner on the Metcalfe Mill Road, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, in the Hospice Care Center at Meadowview Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Hamilton was born in Fleming County on Dec. 4, 1936, the son of Virginia Gilvin Hamilton, a resident at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, and the late Henry Campbell Hamilton.

He was a member of the May’s Lick Christian Church.

Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife, Bonnie Cole Hamilton; two daughters, Kavin (Holton) Cartmell of Maysville and Jennie Felice of May’s Lick; two sons, Trent Hamilton of New Lexington, Ohio and Kirby (Sandy) Hamilton of Georgetown, Kentucky; and four grandchildren, Clay Cartmell, Hayden Hamilton, Felicia Felice, and Blake Conley.

Services for Henry Clay Hamilton will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday at the graveside at the May’s Lick Cemetery with Rev. Phillip Cook officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Adamson, Marion Buchanan, Steve Ritchie, Mike Gifford, Dickie Vice, Holton Cartmell and Larry Davis Dodge.

There will be no visitation.

Miss Wilson

Hannah Abigail Wilson, 14, of Mount Gilead Road, Maysville died Saturday afternoon as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident on U.S. 68 near Washington.

She was born in Lexington on June 24, 1995. Her parent are Lucinda Wilson and the late Kevin Shawn Ferguson. Her adoptive parents are Howard D. and Faye Gilbert Wilson of Mason County.

Miss Wilson was a ninth grade student at Mason County High School.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Savannah H. Wilson of Means and Shaya G. Ferguson of Owingsville; one brother, Zachary G. Himes of Paint Lick; paternal grandparents, Paula Clark and Robert Ferguson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Wilbur and Violet Pollitt Gilbert; and paternal great-grandparents, Lamoine and Rhoda Ormes Wilson.

Services will at 1 p.m., Wednesday at the New Life Church of Christ in Flemingsburg with Rev. Darren Fizer officiating.

Burial will follow in the Esham Cemetery in Lewis County.

Visitation is 4 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, at the church.

Mrs. Hyatt

Evadna Besslean Hyatt, 92, of Flemingsburg died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at her residence.

She was born in Fleming County on March 3, 1918, to the late Herbert A. Selby and Lena Pearl Story Selby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Wilson Hyatt.

She was a housewife.

She is survived by two sons, Elmo (Barb) Hyatt of Columbia, Tenn. and Jewett (Paula) Hyatt of Flemingsburg; one daughter, Phyllis (Harold) Peters of Flemingsburg; six grandchildren, Sheri (Ben) Phillips, Michael Peters, Stephanie (Charles) Mains, Ron (Terri) Hyatt, Samantha (John) Burford and John (April) Hyatt; 18 great-grandchildren, Shannan Pruett, Benjamin Phillips, Brandan Phillips, Michael E. Peters, Justin M. Peters, Kyle Peters, Jimmy Peters, Benjamin Mains, Grace Mains, Gabrielle Hyatt, Wilson Hyatt, Samantha Hyatt, Makenzie Burford, Mallory Burford, Marley Burford, Zachary Hyatt, Austin Hyatt, Macy Hyatt; and two great-great-grandchildren, Alyssa Pruett and Kaleb Pruett.

She was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Amanda Phillips.

Services are 1 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the Denton-Workman Funeral Home in Flemingsburg. Rev. Norman Wasson. Rev. Peter Morgan, Rev. Lynn Beech and Dr. Chris Beckham will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ross

Alan Dale Ross, 55, of Paris died May 4, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on Dec. 29, 1955. He was a shipping clerk and a graduate of Morehead State University with a master's degree.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley (Bobby) Pepper of Paris; two brothers, Randy Lane Ross of Nicholasville, and Eugene Ross Jr. of Lexington.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Friday at the Fleming County Cemetery. There will be no other visitation. Price Bros. Funeral Home in Elizaville are in charge of arrangements.
