Mrs. Saunders

Ruth Ann Saunders, 66, of Dickson, Tenn.,died Thursday June 3, 2010, at Dickson.

She was born Oct. 7, 1943, in Mason County, the daughter of the late Harry and Florence Prather Boone.

She was a homemaker and the widow of William Saunders.

Survivors include two sons, Terry A. Saunders of Madison, Tenn., and Robert (Stacey) Saunders of Norcross, Ga.; two daughters, Gail (Greg) Hutcherson of Dickson, and Patricia Dawkins of Lyles, Tenn.; a brother, Charles Boone of Indiana; a sister, Bonnie Wilson of Danville; 10 grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services are 2 p.m., Sunday at the Denton-Workman Funeral Home with Bro. John Morgan officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m., today at the funeral home.

Jackson

Brenda Jackson, 49, of Flemingsburg died Tuesday.

Mrs. Hyatt

Violet Elaine Decker Hyatt, 83, of Ewing passed away peacefully June 2, 2010, at her home on Hilltop Elizaville Road in Fleming County.

Mrs. Hyatt had fought a valiant two year battle with cancer and died with family at her side.

Mrs. Hyatt was a devoted wife and mother, wanting only to be a farmer's wife and stay at home mom. She was a member of the Battle Run Christian Church and VFW Auxiliary. She was also a very active member of the Fleming County Rescue Squad during the 1970s and 1980s, before the Fleming County EMS.

Born in Rowan County on July 19, 1926, Violet was the oldest daughter of the late Robert A. and Elise Glazer Decker of Morehead.

Mrs. Hyatt is survived by her husband of more than 65 years, William "Bill" Hyatt; two daughters, Sharon Kay Keller of Anchorage, Alaska, and Brenda (Donnie Ray) Ishmael of Bald Hill in Fleming County. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Julie Decker of Zephyerville, Fla., and sister Flay Decker Smith of Shepherdsville. Surviving nieces and nephews are, Neil (Sandy) Morrison of Morehead, Robert Decker, Glemma (Geoff) Warneford, and Lindsey (Kelly) Decker all of northern Kentucky area ,and Terry Smith and Glen Allen Smith of Shepherdsville area.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Robert A. Decker and Lawrence Decker and one sister Melba Decker Morrison.

Visitation will be today 6-8 p.m. at Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville on U.S. 32.

Services will be 2 p.m., June 5, 2010, at Price Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Jolly

Earvin "Whitey" Jolly, 77, of Ewing died June 1, 2010.

He was born in Nicholas County, Feb. 6, 1933, to Harrison and Iretta Earlywine Jolly and was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Opal Mattox Jolly; one daughter, Sandy Cooper; three sons, Rusty (Paula) Jolly, Ervin "Rooster" Jolly and Denver Jolly; six grandchildren; two brothers, J.C. Jolly of Morehead and Marion Jolly of Ewing; three half-sisters, Janie Carpenter of Mason County, Marilyn Sweet of Fleming County and Nellie Ellison of Ewing; and a half-brother, Eddie Jolly of Flemingsburg; a step-brother, Jay Mitchell of Morefield, and a step-sister, lzzie Jolly of Ewing. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Darlene Jolly; two brothers, Ronald and Wayne Jolly; Stevie Jolly; and two step-brothers, Floyd Mitchell and Richard McCarty.

Services are 1 p.m., Friday at Price Bros. Funeral Home, Elizaville. Rev. Jerry Boling will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stamm

Helen Kathryn Hamm Stamm, 81, of Wallingford died Friday, May 28, 2010, at the Fleming County Hospital. She was born Aug. 23, 1928 in Fleming County to the late Garcia Hamm and Oda Mae Mineer Hamm. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Stamm. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. She enjoyed working at Sugarloaf Christian Camp.

She is survived by her children, Donna Roe and husband, Tom of Scotts Branch in Lewis County, Scotty Stamm and wife, Connie of Maysville; and one daughter-in-law, Tammy Stamm; grandchildren, Ashley Stamm, Ben Stamm and wife, Ashley K., Tara Prater, Scott Stamm, Heather Roe MaHoney, Jennifer Roe, Amber Roe and Ryan Roe and wife, Morgan; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Reynolds and husband, Maurice of Ewing; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Stevie Lynn Stamm, one grandson, Brandon MaHoney; three brothers, Ollie, Holman and Eugene Hamm; and one sister, Lena Bickley.

Services will be Monday, May 31, 2010, 11 a.m., at Barbour and Son Funeral Home in Tollesboro. Officiating will be Pastor Hillary Underwood and Pastor Willie Martin. Pallbearers will be Ben Stamm, Ashley Stamm, Scott Stamm, Ryan Roe, Kelly Prater and Travis Roberts.

Burial in the Martin Cemetery, Foxport.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Sugarloaf Christian Church Camp in Foxport.

Mr. Beckett

Steven M. Beckett, 67, of Mason, Ohio, passed away May 5, 2010, at Hospice of Hope in Cincinnati.

Mr. Beckett formerly ran a nursery and landscaping service in Fleming County and a tax service. He ran an accounting, tax and financial management service in Mason. He was a member of Christ Church in Mason and a member of SCORE.

Born in Fleming County on Aug. 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Beckett of Mt. Carmel.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Buckner Beckett; a son, Randy Beckett of Hanover, Ind.; a nephew, Greg (Peggy) Beckett; and a niece, Belinda (David) Hubert.

Also preceding him in death was a brother, Cecil Thomas Beckett.
