Mr. Coffey

James Louis "Louie" Coffey, 84, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 9, at Fleming County Hospital.

He was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Elizaville, to the late William and Louise Coffey.

Mr. Coffey was retired from GTE after 28 years of service. He served as the area construction supervisor at the time of his retirement . He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Hickerson Coffey; three daughters, Marcella Cooper of Flemingsburg, Cindy Hester of Ashland and Lita (Wes) Story of Wallingford; two sisters, Dorothy Willet and Betty Schaffer; nine grandchildren, Amanda (Tommy) Bigelow, Devona (Greg) Dotson, Brian Keith Hester, Nickie Dawn (Matt) Smith, Sophrina (Stephen) Story, Becky Glasscock, Danielle Marie Story, Bradley Neal Story and Jordan Clay Story; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Coffey; three sisters, Mary Margaret Fern, Polly Hartley and Anna Marie Carpenter; and a brother, Bill Coffey.

Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday Oct. 13, at St. Charles Catholic Church.

Visitation will be at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home from 6 - 9 p.m., Tuesday.

Burial will follow in Elizaville Cemetery.

Military rites will be preformed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.

Mr. Howell

Ronald (Joe) Howell, 61, of Flemingsburg died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born Aug. 26, 1949, in Lewis County. Ronald has been a self-employed carpenter and also worked for Bruner's Lumber Company, Judy's Construction and Graham's Lumber Company over the years. He was a talented musician and played the guitar for two gospel quartets in the area, the Nobleman Quartet and the Crusaders Quartet. He was an ordained minister and received a bachelor of ministry degree from the Sonshine School of Evangelism in St. Paul. He also served as minister of the Petersville Church of Christ in Wallingford, Antioch Church of Christ in Mason County and Macon Church of Christ in Macon, Ohio. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Foxport and served in the position as deacon.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beulah Doyle Howell, whom he married on Aug. 23, 1968.

Ronald had two daughters, Melita Howell Lowe and husband, Timothy Lowe of Pike County and Michelle Howell Watson and husband, Kevin Watson of Wallingford; four grandchildren, Jeremiah and Laura Lowe of Pike County and Ariel and Devin Watson of Wallingford.

Ronald was the son of the late Walter and Louise (Clark) Howell; paternal grandparents were the late Charlie and Rebecca Howell; maternal grandparents, the late Herman and Jewel Clark.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Howell Jr. who died in infancy.

Ronald had two brothers, Arnold and Jackie Howell of Wallingford; and three sisters, Roberta Prater, Judy Thurman of Wallingford and Connie Carpenter of Flemingsburg. We miss him and love him very much. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Lord, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 7 and 8.

Services for Mr. Howell will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. Minister Hilliary Underwood and Bro. Arnold Howell will officiate.

Burial will follow the services in Martin Cemetery.

Visitation will be at after 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at the Denton-Workman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Goodman

Joyce Ann Goodman, 61, of Mount Tabor Road, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 in Flemingsburg.

She was born Dec. 16, 1948 to the late Ruth Cline Mabry and Curtis Mabry.

Joyce had worked for US Shoe Corporation, Techno Trim, Inland Container, Peoples Bank and Cheaps Chevrolet.

She is survived by two sons, Gregory (Tonya) Goodman of Elizaville and Chris (Kathy) Goodman of Ewing; and six grandchildren, Tyler Fredrick, Brittney Goodman, Jamie Beatty, Kaitlin Goodman, Derrick Goodman and Nathan Goodman.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Jean Gaunce.

Services are 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 4, 2010 at Denton-Workman Funeral Home, Flemingsburg. Rev. Norman Wasson will officiate.

Burial will follow in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Ewing.

Visitation is Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010 after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Doyle

Adrian Dewey Doyle, 83, of Flemingsburg, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 after a brief stay at Fleming County Hospital.

He was born Oct. 3, 1926, the son of the late Henry Dewey and Mattie Ovel Hickerson Doyle.

He was husband of Minnie Lou Emmons Doyle for 61 years; father of Danny (Sherry) Doyle, Diane (Douglas) Bowling, Carla (Tommy) White and Miriam (Randy) Ishmael; grandfather of Daniel Doyle, Toby Glover, Dustyn Doyle, Erica (Brian) Sapp, Chad (Erica) Bowling, Bryan (Amber) Ishmael, Benjamin (Kathy) Ishmael and Blake Ishmael; papaw G.G. of Kennedy Perkins, Emily Sapp, Kooper Perkins, Brynlee Ishmael, Tate Ishmael and Avah Bowling, all of Fleming County. He is also survived by a great number of nieces and nephews. Other survivors include four sisters and two brothers, Beulah Armstrong, Jewel (Gene) Earlywine, Delores (James) Dugan, Beulene (Vanis) Carver, George (Millie) Doyle of Flemingsburg, and Dr. Marion Garr (Susan) Doyle of Nashville, Tenn.

Adrian was a businessman, currently president of Doyle Mobile Homes, and retired from Doyle Auto Sales. He was Kentucky Colonel. Adrian was widely known in the horseshow circuit as an avid roadhorse and pony trainer and exhibitor, winner of numerous championships. He was a landowner who enjoyed farming and his cattle. He was an active member of Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church having served as past chairman of the board and other various committees, and a member of the Methodist Men's group and Crusaders Sunday School class. He was also a member of the Ruggles Camp Methodist Men's Association. Adrian was a veteran of World War II having served in the 50th Military Police Battalion in the Philippines. He was the desk sergeant at the War Crimes stockade, responsible for nine guards and 125 war criminals.

Adrian was preceded in death by one daughter, Marion Barbour Doyle; and four brothers, Elmer Russell Doyle, Raymond Doyle, Melvin Doyle and Barbour Doyle.

Services will be held at the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church on Monday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery. His grandchildren will be the pallbearers. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post No. 5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post No. 1834.

Visitation will be held at the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church on Sunday from 4-8 p.m.

Mr. Hyatt

William "Bill" Hyatt Jr., 87, of Ewing, passed away peacefully Sept. 29, 2010, at his home on the Hilltop Elizaville Road in Fleming County. Family and friends were at his side.

Mr. Hyatt was born in Rowan County, May 6, 1923, to the late William "Minn" Hyatt and Lucy McKee Hyatt.

He was the devoted husband and father and recently, the widower of Violet Decker Hyatt, after a 65-plus year marriage.

Mr. Hyatt was a farmer all of his life, having a great love of the land and animals. He was a breeder of Limousin cattle for many years.

Mr. Hyatt moved to Fleming County in 1947, after serving in World War II. He was a member of the VFW, active member of the Fleming County Rescue Squad and a Kentucky Colonel.

Mr. Hyatt is survived by two daughters, Brenda Faye (Donnie Ray) Ishmael of Hillsboro, and Sharon Kay Keller of Anchorage, Ak. He is also survived by a sister, Gustiva H. Masters of May's Lick; a sister-in-law, Helen Hyatt of Cynthiana; and nephews and nieces, Daniel (Bettye) Masters and Charles (Roseanne) Masters of Fleming County, Phillip Graham, Jane Graham Dwyer and Linda Graham of Massachusetts, Robert Hyatt, Keith Hyatt and Mike Hyatt of Kentucky.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Thelma R. Graham; and a brother, Robert J. Hyatt.

Services will be Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at 2 p.m., at the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville.

Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m., today, Oct. 1, 2010, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Meade

Kimberly Rey Carrigan Meade, 42, departed this earth for her heavenly home on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010. She will be reunited in heaven with her beloved daughter, Kimmie Kelly.

Kimberly will forever remain in the hearts of the many children she welcomed to her heart and home with hugs as they attended her KimberCare Nursery and Daycare.

Kimberly was a student at May's Lick Elementary School. She also attended Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Ga and graduated from Northmont High School in Clayton, Ohio.

She will be remembered as a high-stepping clogging member/instructor of the Dixie Creamers Clogging Team directed by her parents. She was also a member of the Sweet and Sassy Clogging team in Marietta. Kimberly taught clogging for a time at JJ Daniel Middle School in Georgia and participated in the drill team in Cobb County, Ga. She was a cheerleader at May's Lick Elementary School.

Kimberly and her family attended the Englewood United Methodist Church. She was baptized at Seddon United Methodist Church as an infant and was a member there until the time of her death.

Kimberly leaves behind daughters, Cheyenne and Chaelynne Kelly; her husband, Greg Meade; children, Breyden Meade and Chelsie Meade; and grandson, Liam; her parents, Allen and Reynola Carrigan of Englewood, Ohio; sisters, Kristyn and Kamille Carrigan; and niece, Mackenzie Carrigan Blasko. A host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends will mourn the loss of Kimberly.

In addition to her daughter Kimmie, Kimberly was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Reynolds and Frances Moreland; her uncle, Jack Moreland; and paternal grandparents, Elmer Thomas and Ida Frances Carrigan.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Seddon United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the May's Lick Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Moreland, Tim Moreland, Reynolds Moreland Jr., John Newsome, Rich Schwalbauch, and Darren Hull.

Visitation noon until time of service at the church.

Mrs. Bussell

Geraldine Gray Bussell, 49, of Paris, died Sept. 26, 2010 at her residence.

She was born July 23, 1961 in Ewing, the daughter of the Roy Gray and the late Emma Garr Gray.

Geraldine is survived by her father, Roy Gray; her husband, Eddie Bussell; two children, Rebecca Dawn Bussell Orrand and Kimberly Gail Bussell, both of Paris; seven grandchildren; and eight siblings, Linda and Pat Evans of Paris, Kenny and Carolyn Gray, Barbara Gray, Ronnie Gray, Kennetha and Mike Evans, Richard and Beverly Gray, Jamie Gray, and Crystal Gray, all of Ewing.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Garr Gray; and a sister, Martha Gray McIntosh.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday at Price Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Gaylord Gillespie officiating. Burial in Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation 6 - 9 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
