Ms. Humphries

Mallie Humphries, 86, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 23, 2011, at Fleming County Hospital.

She was born in Lewis County, Jan. 31, 1925, to the late Joe and Minnie Humphries Fields.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald and Clinton Humphries; two half-sisters, Irene Hilander and Christine Barber; and seven step-brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a sister, Laura Mae Humphries; a half-brother, Artis (Maxine) Fields; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews

Services will be at noon, Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home, Flemingsburg.

Burial will follow in Thorp Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday 10 a.m.-noon at the funeral home.

Mr. Steinbruegge

Lawrence Eugene Steinbruegge, 68, of Farris Branch, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, in Wallingford.

He was born Jan. 5, 1943, in St. Louis, Mo.

He was a staff sergeant and retired from the U.S. Army and Marines.

He received a honorable discharge from the Vietnam War with the highest rank of E-6; Air Force rating of E-6 and entered the service in January of 1977 in Louisville and was dismissed May 1981 from Fort Campbell.

He was preceded in death by her mother, Mildren Steinbruegge and father, William D. Steinbruegge; and several nieces and nephews; and friends Bob G. Ray of Owingsville and Willie Milton and family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family chose cremation.

Ms. Planck

Michele Lynn Planck, 31, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at University of Kentucky Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 2, 1980, in Rowan County. She was a 1998 graduate of Fleming County High School.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Lois Thompson, Doug Botkin, James and Lavada McGinnis.

Survivors include her fiance, Avery Roberts; son, Andrew Hayden Roberts; mother, Angela (Eddie) Ishmael; father, Fred (Marjorie) McGinnis; sister, Casey Ishmael; grandmother, Alberta Ishmael; mother- and father-in law, James and Gale Roberts; and brother-in-law Corey Roberts.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today, Feb. 21, 2011, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Joseph officiating. Burial will follow in Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation was Sunday.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for a college fund for Andrew Hayden Roberts.

Mr. Vice

Jerry Wayne Vice, 64, of Tilton Road, Flemingsburg died Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at his residence.

Mr. Vice was born Jan. 14, 1947, in Mason County to the late Floyd Vice of Bath County and Frances Dudley Jordan Vice of Mason County.

Mr. Vice was a lifelong resident of Flemingsburg and Tollesboro.

A 1965 graduate of Tollesboro High School, Mr. Vice played basketball for the Tollesboro Wildcats from 1962 to 1965. He served two years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Mr. Vice was the former owner and operator of Vice's Valley View Service Station in Flemingsburg and owned Vice's Trucking.He was an auto mechanic and truck driver. He enjoyed late model car racing and owned the white V1 car and loved to listen to gospel music. He attended Tilton Christian Church.

Mr. Vice is survived by two children, Timothy Vice of Flemingsburg and Shea Vice (Kristian Ishmael) of Louisville; four grandchildren, Courtney Nicole Vice, Shannon Justice, Shane Vice and Nathaniel Humfleet; two brothers, Danny (Mary Lynn) Vice of Fleming County and Stephen (Edna) Vice of Tollesboro; two sisters, Sandra (Donnie) Gilbert of Maysville and Pamela (Tim) Perkins of Tollesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Services 11 a.m. Tuesday at Barbour and Son Funeral Home at 3378 West Tollesboro. Bro. Jim Wilson and Bro. Silas Ripato officiating. Burial will be in Flemingsburg Cemetery.

Visitation 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Brown, Kirby Wright, Ronnie Helphinstine, Bill Castle, Paul Younce, Darrell Polley, Josh Vice and Derek Perkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Taylor and Jimmy Parrish, an Army friend from Alabama.

Mrs. Denton

Bonnie Jean Denton, 74, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011. at Fleming County Hospital.

She was born Feb. 23, 1936, in Fleming County, to the late Roy and Josephine Emmons.

She was a member of Victory Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bobby Emmons; and sister, Betty Corbin

Survivors include her husband of 58 years J.W. Denton; a son, Billy Joe (Jerri) Denton; daughters, Sheri (Don) Latham and Christie (Tom) Skaggs; brother, Charlie Brice (Carol) Emmons; grandchildren, Tanner Latham, Taylore Latham and Wade Skaggs; and several nieces and nephews

Services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Joseph officiating.

Mr. Ensor

Johnny Ensor, 82, of Mount Carmel Road, died Feb. 13, 2011, at his residence.

He was born March 14, 1928, to the late Tom Ensor and Nona Ensor Moran.

He was a farmer.

He is survived by Effie Hunt of Flemingsburg, Sara Emmons of Goddard, and Jo Ann (Bill) Martin of Sharpsburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Preston Ensor; brothers, Lewis Ensor, Thomas Ray Ensor, James Corbett Ensor, Clyde Jackson Ensor and Robert Wayne Ensor; and a sister, Eva Mullikin.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at the Denton-Workman Funeral Home Chapel, Flemingsburg. Rev. Billy Harmon will officiate.

Burial will follow in Longview Cemetery in Bethel.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Davis

Robert "Bobby" Donald Davis, 78, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, peacefully at home.

He was born Dec. 10, 1932, in Hillsboro, to the late Charles F. Davis and Maude Calvert Davis.

He was the husband of Gloria Rice Davis of Poplar Plains, whom he married Feb. 18, 1961.

He was a farmer and heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Poplar Plains Kentucky Christian Church.

He is survived by four daughters, Maudie Marie (Mitch) Christie of New Mexico, Ruby (Jerry) Cooper of Dover, Carla Manning of Aberdeen, Ohio, and Cynthia (Greg) Blanton of Flemingsburg; his sons, Darrell Davis of Ashland, Dale Davis of Bald Hill, and Dwayne (Brenda) Davis of Flemingsburg; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Manning and Anna Lee Doyle of Flemingsburg.

He was preceded in death by a son, Don Robert Davis; a grandson, Trey Keith Davis; nine brothers; and three sisters.

Services 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at Poplar Plains Kentucky Christian Church. Rev. James Humphries and Rev. George Sloan will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Goddard Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., today at the Denton-Workman Funeral Home, Flemingsburg.
