Mr. Helphenstine

Ricky Scott Helphenstine, 48, of Flemingsburg, died Sept. 13, 2010 at Fleming County Hospital.

He was born Aug. 5, 1962, in Mason County to the late Charles and Irene Helphenstine.

He was a retired bus monitor for Licking Valley Head Start.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Gallagher Helphenstine; one son, Tommy Lee (Shelly) Gallagher; one brother, Gerald (Marietta) Helphenstine; one grandson, and one aunt, Christine Gray.

Services are 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Lytle

Eddie Allen Lytle, 69, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at Fleming County Hospital.

He was born in Fleming County, Sept 29, 1940, to the late Edward and Glendina Story Lytle.

He was a lifetime livestock dealer and farmer. He was a member of Fleming County Cattleman's Association and Kentucky Walking Horse Association.

Survivors include a son, Marty Lytle; step-son, Patrick Evans; a sister, Evelyn Shannon; and three grandchildren, Myranda, Martina and Cara Lytle.

Services at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home in Flemingsburg.

Burial in the Fleming County Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m., today at the funeral home.

Mr. Story

Martin Story, age 98, of Maysville Road, Flemingsburg, passed away Friday, September 10, 2010, at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg.

Born March 2, 1912, in Fleming County, he was the son of the late John and Darcus Marshall Story.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Story.

His wife of 40 years, Alberta LeForge Story, passed away Oct. 6, 2005.

Mr. Story is survived by one step son, Eddie Ivans of Flemingsburg; two grandsons, Keith Marshall Story and Mark Story, both of Columbus, Ohio; one step-granddaughter, Michelle (Freddy) Riggs; one step-great-grandson, Allen Riggs; and one step-great-granddaughter, Isabella Riggs, all of Maysville; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Story was Fleming County jailer for 12 years and was a member of the Poplar Plains Christian Church.

Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at Hutton Funeral Home with the Rev. George Sloan and the Rev. Ford Hinton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Earl Burnette, Weldon Lynam, Wayne Lynam, Eddie Weatherspoon, Harold Himes, Pat Price, Gerald D. Saunders and Freddy Riggs.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept.r 12, 2010, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Mr. Gardner

Charles N. Gardner, 94, of Flemingsburg died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home.

He was born Sept. 10, 1915, in Fleming County to the late Charles and Mabel Gardner.

He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lee Kennedy Gardner; and a granddaughter, Dana Humphries.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Steve) Humphries and Wanda (Larry) Fearin of Fleming County; four grandchildren, Lee Ann (Willie) Conn, Lori (Richie) Keilman and Michael (Cathy) Carpenter, all of Fleming County, and Jennifer (Tim) Worley of Mount Sterling; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters; Ivy Thomas and Elizabeth "Sister" Sales of Ohio and Evelyn Eads of Florida.

Services at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, Flemingsburg. Burial in the Mount Carmel Cemetery with military rites by the W.N.Fant American Legion Post No. 5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Church

Anna Church, 89, died of heart problems in Marion, Ind., at Marion General Hospital on Sept. 1, 2010.

Born Oct. 4, 1920, to the late Roy and Ruby Baker; she was the widow of Howard Church who died in 1999.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by a brother and three sisters.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., at the Locust Cemetery in Fleming County.

Local arrangements are by Denton-Workman Funeral Home.

Mrs. White

Joye Catherine Stephens White, age 77, of Morehead Road, Wallingford, Kentucky, formerly of Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

Born October 31, 1932, in Carter County, Kentucky, Joye was the daughter of the late Harrison and Ruth Lee Stephens. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dexter Stephens and Arnold Stephens, and two sisters, Jerry Hoover and Dorothy Yeager.

Joye is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edsel R. White, Sr., whom she married May 21, 1953; four sons, Johnnie Schinsky and wife Freda of Bear Creek, North Carolina, Edsel White Jr., and wife Linda, Timothy White and wife Janet, and Allie White and wife Cathy, all of Clearfield, Kentucky; one daughter, Teketa Upchurch and husband Billy of Allons, Tennessee; one brother, Delsie Stevens and wife Betty of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; one sister, Wilma Christy and husband Bob of Russellville, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Mrs. White was a longtime employee of Jerry’s Restaurant, Eagles Nest and Cowden Mfg., all in Morehead, Kentucky, and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Paris Ferguson officiating. Burial was in the Clearfield Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Allie White, Jr., Dustin White, Jason Upchurch, Harley Upchurch, Bryan Owens, Joe Holbrook.

Alternate Pallbearers: Justin Reynolds, Dewayne Biggs, Joe Carpenter, Thomas Ferritto, Anthony Wallace.

Visitation was Friday, September 3, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
