Mr. Dye

Omar Frank Dye, 76, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 at Fleming County Hospital.

He was born June 12, 1934, to the late Leland and Rettie Belle Dye.

He was a lifelong farmer raising over 56 crops of tobacco.

He was married to the former Madeline F. Ackley in May of 1974.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Evelyn Dye Helphenstine and Margaret Black

Survivors include his wife, Madeline F. Dye; two sons, Ken Dye of Flemingsburg and Frank (Sandy) Dye of Lewes, Del.; two special people who were like sons to Omar, Eddie Dye Helphenstine and Mark Follmer; three grandchildren, Tiffany Dye of Flemingsburg, Stephanie Marshall of Galloway, Ohio, and Brandon Lee Dye of Millsboro, Del.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at the New Life Church of Christ with Bro. Darrin Fizer and Bro. Hillary Underwood officiating.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m., Sunday at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home and 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at church on Monday.

Mrs. Pogue

Naomi Lee Ross Pogue, 94, a resident of the Maysville Nursing & Rehab Facility passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 at the facility. She was a former resident of Fairview in Fleming Co. and a longtime resident of May’s Lick. She was a retired cook at the Thorobred Inn in May’s Lick and the widow of John W. “Pete” Pogue.

Mrs. Pogue was born in Mason County on June 16, 1916 daughter of the late Robert & Lula Frederick Ross.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved crafting to give to family and friends and recently made bracelets for children in the ward at U.K. Hospital. She was a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include a daughter Louise (Orville W.) Miller of Fairview and 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Robert A. Pogue and 3 brothers and 6 sisters.

Services will be 1 P.M. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 at Palmer Funeral Home in May’s Lick. Interment will follow in the May’s Lick Cemetery. Visitation 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials suggested to May’s Lick Christian Church. Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net

Mrs. Pugh

Peggy Jo Pugh, 58, of Sharpsburg died Friday at Fleming County Hospital. She is survived by her husband, John C. Pugh.

Memorial service 2:30 p.m., Thursday, at Victory Tabernacle.

Mr. Whitton

Bruce Whitton, 83, of Carlisle died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Nicholas County Hospital.

He was a salesman for Markwell-Jones.

Mr. Whitton was born Oct. 10, 1927, in Fleming County, the son of the late Emery and Nancye Crockett Whitton.

Survivors include four nieces; a nephew; and a friend, Paul Treadway of Carlisle.

Services are 2 p.m., today at Denton-Workman Funeral Home with Rev. Julian Hammonds officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. until services, today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Fearin

Pauline Fearin, 82, of Foxport died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.

She was a housewife, farmer and a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Thomas "Buddy" Fearin.

Mrs. Fearin was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Mason County, the daughter of the late Eugene and Nellie Hurst Lightner.

Survivors include a sister, Emma Jea Emmons of Fleming County; three grandchildren, Greta (Lester) Hall and Jennifer (David) Cox, both of Fleming County, and Kevin (Teresa) Callahan of Lewis County; eight great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Leslie Lewis of Fleming County.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Callahan.

Services are 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Denton-Workman Funeral Home with Bro. Hillary Underwood officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m., today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Reeves

Julie Ann O’Connor Reeves, age 32, of Wallingford, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 7, 2011, in Lexington, Kentucky, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born October 27, 1978, in Morehead, Kentucky, she is the daughter of Julie Catherine “Cathy” Whitt O’Connor of Morehead and the late Daniel Howard O’Connor. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Edgar and Dorothy Whitt and John and Nancy Howard O’Connor.

In addition to her mother, Julie is survived by her husband, Donnie Reeves; one son, Ransom Reeves, and three daughters, Lakyn, Klara, and Scarlet Reeves; one sister, Donna Wilson of Morehead; three brothers, Daniel O’Connor of Morehead, Steve O’Connor and Ronnie O’Conner, both of West Liberty; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Julie was a former salesperson for Ashley Furniture and Furniture World in Lexington.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Howard Lee Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins-Whitt Cemetery in Wrigley.

Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Logan, Zachary Logan, Thomas Peak, Randall Whitt, Tommy Whitt, and Terry VanCleave.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.

Mrs. Boggs

Bonnie Lou Boggs, 43, of Flemingsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at her home.

She was born Jan. 27, 1967, in Mason County, the daughter of Dorothy Reeves of Goddard and the late Woodrow Reeves.

Mrs. Boggs was a homemaker.

In additition to her mother, survivors include her husband, Gary Boggs; two daughters, April (Bill) Eldridge of Richmond, and Donna Allen of Flemingsburg; five grandchildren, Ashley and Matthew Eldridge, Preston and Blake Eldridge and Kaylee Dawn Allen; and eight brothers, Woddie (Ginny) Reeves of Goddard, Sammy Reeves of Bluebank, Tommy (Dorothy) Reeves of Fairborne, Ohio, Ernie (Kathy) Reeves of Ohio, Donnie Reeves of Florence, Larry (Peggy) Reeves of Warsaw, Claudie (Trish) Reeves of Goddard and Danny Reeves of Goddard.

Memorial service Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Denton-Workman Funeral Home.
