David Lee Jolly, age 80, of Sunset/Locust Road, Hillsboro died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at his residence.
Born Sept. 6, 1928, in Montgomery County, he was the son of the late Elzie Lee and Lydia Bowles Jolly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Jolly of Hillsboro; and two sisters, Juanita Jolly and Geneva Rammel of Kettering, Ohio.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lois Kirk Jolly, on Nov. 3, 2006; and his son, Anthony Jolly, on Jan. 18, 2005.
He is survived by two sons, Gary (Katie) Jolly and Dwight (Stephanie) Jolly, all of Hillsboro; daughter-in-law, Shirley Jolly of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, David Todd Jolly, Stephen Jolly, Ami Jolly Rowe, Cody Jolly, Shauna Jolly, Michaela Jolly, and Isaac Jolly; four great-grandchildren, Dakota, Kara, and Leah Jolly and David Gage Rowe; and two step great-grandchildren, Tyler and Taylia Rowe.
Other survivors include two brothers, Charles Jolly of Flemingsburg, and Herbert (Charlotte) Jolly of Hillsboro; four sisters, Mae (Kenneth) Ramey of Flemingsburg, Virginia Boling and Helen Steele, both of Saint Paris, Ohio and Faye (Gene) Lewis of Franklin, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
David was a retired dairy and tobacco farmer and a member of the Fox Hunters Associations.
Services will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Lands and Pastor Willie Skaggs Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marion Story, Bill Story, Stevie Call, Bubby Shields, David Hamilton,William Earl Humphries, Doug Rigdon and John Lands.
Visitation is after 5 p.m., today, June 26, 2009, at Hutton Funeral Home.
