Everett E. Sapp, 87, of Flemingsburg went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the Fleming Co. Hospital in Flemingsburg.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Stella Gardner Sapp. He was born in Fleming Co. on November 17, 1921 to the late Ernest and Lizzie Sapp.
Everett was a lifetime member and elder of the Battle Run Christian Church, and a former farmer and landowner until his retirement. Everett served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He is survived by three daughters: Janice (Charles) Crump, Judy (David) Wright, and Nancy (David) Doyle; two sons: Billy (Mona) Sapp, and Michael (Charlotte) Sapp; seven grandchildren: Mark Ramey, Denise Collinsworth, Candace Conn, Heather Plummer, Isaac Sapp, Tyler Doyle, and Crystal Kennon; and four great grandchildren: Carson and Parker Collinsworth, Seth Ramey, and Hailey Conn.
Everett was preceded in death by two children: a daughter Mary Belle, and a son, Ricky Wayne Sapp; two sisters: Lottie Jones and Ruby Lee Jackson; and a grandson Brad Kennon.
Visitation will be held at Denton-Workman Funeral Home in Flemingsburg on Tuesday, June 16 after 5:00 pm and funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 17 with military rights by American Legion and VFW Post 1834. Minister Michael Burnett will be officiating services with interment in Elizaville Cemetery.
