Mrs. Vice

Frances Dudley Jordan Vice, 83, of Tollesboro passed away Monday, July 27, 2009, at Fleming County Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born in Mason County on July 23, 1926, the daughter of the late Charles Dudley Jordan and Bessie Glover Jordan.
She was the widow of Floyd Vice, who died March 22, 2008; they were married 63 years.
She was an exceptional homemaker, and fulfilled a life-long dream to help others when she became a nurse aide at Hayswood Hospital and Meadowview Regional Medical Center. Also she did private-duty sitting with the ill and elderly. Frances was a faithful member of the Tollesboro United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women’s Group when her health permitted. She enjoyed family and friends, homemaking, cooking, sewing, canning, quilting, reading, gardening, visiting the sick, and caring for others.
She is the beloved mother of three sons, Jerry Wayne Vice of Tilton, Danny Ray Vice and wife, Mary Lynn of Flemingsburg, and Stephen Dale Vice and wife, Edna of Tollesboro; and two daughters, Sandra Gale Gilbert and husband, Donnie, of Maysville; and Pamela Sue Perkins and husband, Tim, of Tollesboro; and the loving grandmother of Tim Vice, Shea Vice, Joshua Vice and wife, Michelle, Derek Perkins, Amanda Gilbert and Brooke Perkins; two great-grandchildren, Courtney Vice and Shane Vice; and also one cherished sister, Lula Belle Griffin of Altoona, Fla.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Elizabeth Emmons, Virginia Ross,Thelma Watson, Anna Louise Jordan and Geri Jordan; and one brother, Bob Jordan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, at the Tollesboro United Methodist Church with Brother Silas Ripato and Brother Don Tipton officiating.
Burial will be in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories in Maysville.
Visitation will be 5-9:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Barbour and Son Funeral Home in Tollesboro.
