Mr. Lykins

John Edward "Toby" Lykins, age 74, of Flemingsburg, passed away Friday at his residence.
Mr. Lykins was born June 17, 1934. His parents were the late John F. and Rosa Ford Lykins.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of services. He served four years in Vietnam and traveled to and visited 28 foreign countries and received seven air medals. He was an electronics technician.
Survivors include three sisters, Edna (Bill) McElfresh of Flemingsburg, Wilma (Earl) Kinder of Flemingsburg, and Doris (Bobby) Vice of Mount Carmel; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen James and Hazel Ward; and two brothers, Everett Lykins and Bill Lykins.
In keeping with Mr. Lykins wishes, his body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Boone-Nickell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Church

Verba M. Church, 88, of Flemingsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, in Russellville, Ohio.
She was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Sandy Hook, the daughter of the late Wesley and Nora Evans Adkins.
She was a retired homemakers and the widow of Arthur Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna (Donald) Housh of Russellville; a granddaughter, Paula Jane (Larry) Meeker of Sardinia, Ohio; great-grandsons, Robbie Wagner of Decatur, Ohio, and Matthew Meeker of Sardinia; two brothers, Wesley (Pete) Adkins of Eaton, Ohio, and Charles Adkins of Columbus, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Betty Adkins and Lois Adkins; step-grandchildren, Greg (Heather) Housh of Georgetown, Ohio, Nathan Housh of Russellville, Megan Housh of Bethel, Ohio, and Scott Meeker of Sardinia, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at Denton-Workman Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel, Ky.

Visitation is 11 a.m., until services Tuesday at the funeral home.
