Public Hearing

The second reading of proposed floodplain management ordinance will be held at the REGULAR meeting of the Fleming County Fiscal Court on TUESDAY MARCH 9, 2010 at 6 p.m. at the CITY ANNEX BUIDING 160 WEST ELECTRIC AVE FLEMINGSBURG (OLD NEWMAN BUILDING AT CITY PARK

Mrs. Bailey

MAYSVILLE -- Verlie Jean Bailey, 88, of Maysville passed away March 4, 2010, at Maysville Nursing and Rehab Facility.

Mrs. Bailey was born in Fleming County on May 13, 1921, to the late Lee and Florence Clairy Rigdon.

She was a member of the Maysville Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Calvin Bailey; one son, Ron Bailey and his wife, Penny of Maysville; a sister, Ruby Million of Maysville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jess Rigdon, Bud Rigdon, and Walker Rigdon; and two sisters, Edith Fraley and Mildred Gabbard.

Services for Verlie Bailey were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Brell and Son Funeral Home with evangelist Wayne Kaiser officiating.

Burial followed in the Wedonia Cemetery.

Visitation was from 5-8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Marty Mastin, Floyd Truesdell, Gary Truesdell, Lowell Hester, Barry Million and Ron Burkley.

Mrs. McCord

MANCHESTER, Ohio -- Mary Grace McCord, 86, of Xenia, Ohio, formerly of Manchester, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at her home.

She was born on Aug. 6, 1923, in Adams County, Ohio to the late Norris and Irma Bradford Ellison.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas E Day and Norman McCord; her son, Alfred Day; and two daughters, Angie McCord and Rita Kirk.

She was a former caregiver and belonged to the Manchester Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Thomas Wayne Day of Jamestown, Ohio, Rick Day of Xenia, Ohio, and Kenny McCord of St Paris, Ohio; one daughter, Brenda Howell of Xenia; one sister, Hazel Grooms of West Union, Ohio; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, March 6, at Wilson Home for Funerals.

Burial will follow at the West Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 1 p.m.
