Mr. Johnson

 

Johnson, Ivan, 84, husband of Opal Eileen Caudill Johnson, died Tues., Dec. 16, 2008 at Central Baptist Hospital. Born in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Rozennie Caudill Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Fleming County High School and an U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Pacific during World War II. Mr. Johnson was employed by the United States Postal Service, a lifetime Masonic member of Fleming Lodge #112 and member of Lexington United Baptist Church.

Survivors other than his wife include two sons, Pastor Jimmy Ivan (Lynda) Johnson, Leitchfield, Ky., and Danny Thomas (Dana) Johnson, Lexington; four grandchildren, James “Ricky” (Celia) Johnson, Georgetown, Thomas Russell (Jennifer) Johnson, Oklahoma City, Okla., Danny Ivan (Shannon) Johnson, Lexington, and Angela Lynn (Dale) Brown, Lexington; sixteen great-grandchildren, Reid, JoAnna, Katherine, Mary, Martha, Blake, Josh, Sara, Allie, Maddie, Tanner, Luke, Ben, Dale Jr., Danielle, and Adam; three brothers, Vernon (Helen) Johnson, Hillsboro, Willie D. (LuEllen) Johnson, Flemingsburg, and Tommy (Marge) Johnson, Hobert, Ind.; and a sister, Clarice Delores (Jim) Wiley, Anderson, Ind. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ellis Johnson and Keenis Johnson; four sisters, Eva Bowers, Ethel Binion, Nellie Eldridge, and Oma Faye Vice; and a granddaughter, Sally.

Funeral services will be 11 am Fri. Dec. 19 at Lexington United Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Thurs. Dec. 18. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lexington United Baptist Church, 9477 Rockwell Rd., Lex., KY 40516.
