Mr. Furnish

Larry Nelson Furnish, 69, of Ewing, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 in an automobile accident.

He was born Aug. 4, 1940 in Gallatin County to the late Paulina and Kenneth Furnish.

He was retired police officer with the Covington Police Department, a member of the Nepton Methodist Church and served two tours in the United States Army.

He is survived by his companion, Alma Anderson of Ewing; a son Larry Furnish Jr.; three brothers, Kenneth (Christna) Furnish of Windermere, Fla., Joseph Furnish of Covington, and Stephen (Theresa) Furnish of Union; four sisters, Donna Penick of Hilton Head, S.C., Betty Campbell of Covington, Kay (Jerry) Smith of Taylor Mill and Sharon (Rick) Beach of Dry Ridge.; many nieces and nephews; and his trusty companion Feckles the dog.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ted Campbell.

Services 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010 at Nepton United Methodist Church with Bro. John Jefferson officiating. Burial in Elizaville Cemetery with military graveside rites by the local VFW and American Legion.

Visitation 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Denton-Workman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
