Mr. Davis

Eli Wayne Davis, 82, of Flemingsburg died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, in Flemingsburg.

He was born in Fleming County on Nov. 19, 1927, to the late Maude Mae Calvert Davis and Charles F. Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Earlywine Davis.

Mr. Davis was a retired G.C.Murphy employee and also employed at Valley View Service Station and Green Valley Tire.

He is survived by two sons, Lowell Dean (Linda) Davis of Fort Pierce, Fla. and Robert W. (Cassidy) Davis of Mount Sterling; two daughters, Linda (Charles) Brazell of Atlanta, Ga., and Susan Kimberly (Hal) Busby of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Jack Davis of Michigan, and Bobby Davis of Fleming County; two sisters, Betty Manning and Anna L. Doyle, both of Flemingsburg; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Davis; five brothers, Elmer Davis, Marion Davis, Earl Sam Davis, John Davis and Raymond Davis; and one sister, Margaret Barbour.

Services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 at the Denton-Workman Funeral Home, Flemingsburg. Rev. James Ray Hickerson will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Maysville Cemetery, with military honors.

Visitation 6 -8 p.m., today, Aug. 25, 2010, at the funeral home.
