Mrs. Johnson

Glyda Pearl Crawford Johnson, 90, of Water Street, Flemingsburg died Thursday, July 29, 2010.

She was born July 6, 1920, to the late Lloyd Crawford and Maggie Adkins Crawford.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Johnson; and a son, John Paul Johnson.

Mrs. Johnson worked in family planning for the Fleming County Health Department. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge for 50 years and was a Kentucky Colonel.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Calvert of Flemingsburg; two sons, Wendell (Angie) Johnson and Gary (Margaret) Johnson, all of Flemingsburg; a brother, Cletis Crawford of Fleming County; six grandchildren, Kristie (C.C.) Campbell of Flemingsburg, Amy (Kevin) Ishmael, Wendy (Tony) Hargett, R.T. Johnson and Ashley Johnson, all of Fleming County, and Heather (Damien) Hitch of N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Jared Ishmael and Ava and Emily Hitch.

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Billy Calvert.

Services 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at the Denton-Workman Funeral Home, Flemingsburg. Rev. David Barnett will officiate.

Burial in the Fleming County Cemetery, Flemingsburg.

Visitation 6-8 p.m., Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the funeral home.
