Mrs. Toy

Mrs. Katherine Thompson Toy, 52, of Flemingsburg died Thursday at the Fleming County Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Ethel Johnson and Fred Thompson.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie Toy; brothers, Howard Fred Thompson and James Thompson, both of Connersville, Ind., Jackie, George, Wilbur, Robert, Glennis, Sherman and Gary Thompson, all of Fleming County and Virgil Thompson of Chesapeake, Ohio.
Services are 1 p.m., Saturday, at the Family Worship Center, Morehead Road. Rev. Steve Hickerson will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery.
Visitation is after 6 p.m., today at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home in Flemingsburg.
Memorials may be made to the family for funeral expenses.

Mr. Spurlock

Hobert Glen Spurlock, 91, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at the RidgeWay Manor Nursing Home in Owingsville.
Mr. Spurlock was born April 27, 1917, in Fleming County, to the late Luley Spurlock and George Spurlock. He was self employed.
He is survived by three daughters, Millie Claypool of Carlisle, Alta Fay Spurlock of Hillsboro and Celia Irene (Kenneth Ray) Walker of Hillsboro; two brothers, Kelly Howard Spurlock of Muncie, Ind., and Clifford Spurlock of North Carolina; three sisters, Glydia May Spurlock of Muncie, Ind., Pauline Stone of Muncie, Ind. and Sara Ann Spurlock of Colfax; 15 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Ellen Spurlock; three sons, George Nelson Spurlock, Omar C. Spurlock and Grover Clifford Spurlock; two brothers, Melvin C. Spurlock and Emmitt Spurlock; one sister, Ermine Spurlock Revalee; three half-brothers, Hinton Spurlock, Shirley Spurlock and Newton Spurlock; three grandchildren, James Nolan Spurlock, Rachel Lynn Spurlock and Fay Ellen Spurlock; and two great-grandchildren, Dustin Ray Reed and Jeremy Johnson.

Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009, at the Chapel Denton-Workman Funeral Home in Flemingsburg. Pastor Randy Hawkins will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Grange City.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2009, at the funeral home.
