Mr. Burton

Charles Walter Burton, 75, of Ewing, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Nicholas County Hospital.

He was born Feb. 19, 1936, in Mason County to the late Edgar and Stella Burton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Tootsie Burton.

He was a chef for S&S Cafeterias and served in the United States Army.

He is survived by four sons, Mike (Bonnie) Burton, Jim (Polly) Burton, Gary Burton and Tony Burton, all of Ewing; two daughters, Marcie Jandro and Julie Burton, both of Ewing; 12 grandchildren, Christie Burton, Cole Burton, Regina Fulton, Tina and Trista Jandro, Tiffany Taylor, Bobby, Jonothan and Casey Burton, Derek McFarland, Megan Burton and Tabitha Abner; and one great-grandchild, Keagan Florence.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robby Burton; and one great-grandchild, Tyler Burton.

Services are 1 p.m,. Friday, March 25, 2011, at Denton-Workman Funeral Home, Flemingsburg.

Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery - Mount Tabor, Ewing.

Visitation is 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Pence

Micheal Everett Pence, age 50, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at his sister’s home.

Born November 9, 1960, in Morehead, Kentucky, he is the son of Phyllis Messer Pence of Morehead and the late Ollie Hayse Pence. One brother, David Pence, also preceded him in death.

In addition to his mother, Mike is survived by his wife, Erin Ishmeal Pence, and three stepsons, Waylon, Caleb and Bo Crawford of Morehead; a son, Scott McClurg of Olive Hill, Kentucky; a daughter, Tara Brooke of Indiana; two brothers, Mark Pence of Morehead and Rick Pence of Wallingford, Kentucky; one sister, Lisa Pence of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mike was a former bricklayer and enjoyed being with family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James DeAtley officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mark Pence, Rick Pence, Daniel Boswell, Gary Jones, Jr., Roger Pence, and Gene Netherly.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
