Mrs. Wheeler

Virgia Mae Wheeler, 92, Tilton Road, Flemingsburg, passed away Monday. She was born in Johnson County, Ky., on March 2, 1917. Her parents were the late Willie and Ida Collins Arms.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Jesse “Jay” Wheeler; one daughter, Bonnie (Gary) Evans of Carlisle; two sons, James (Rosa) Tackett, Flemingsburg, and Garry (Gina) Tackett, Hollywood, Fla,; and one sister, Joyce Taylor of Paintsville.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Carl Tackett and Calloway Tackett..

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Ray officiating. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Visitation is at Boone-Nickell after 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mr. Beckett

Cecil Thomas Beckett, lLoving husband of Betty (nee: Burke) for 58 years. Devoted father of Belinda B. (David) Hubert and Gregory Thomas (Peggy) Beckett. Papaw of Melissa (Ryan) Beal, Charissa (Jimmy) Richter, and Rob (Kari) Hubert. Great-grandfather of Raelynn, Rayden, and Kaleb. Brother of Steve (Joyce) Beckett.

Cecil, a resident of Amelia, Ohio, passed away on April 11, 2009 at the age of 81. He was a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky where he received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He utilized his education and skills in the engineering field. Throughout his career he was recognized for his exemplary achievement, most notably in his decade long work with Fernald and the Department of Energy.

Cecil never stopped learning, displayed in his avid interest in reading. His greatest interests were in the areas of Civil War History and Indian Artifacts. His interest began in the 1950’s and blossomed in 1991 with the opening of Cannonball Express Antiques in Anderson Township , Ohio .

Cecil will also be remembered as a faithful servant and lifelong member of the Christian Church. He will be missed as Winsome Class President at Parkside Christian Church. A time of visitation will be held at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, 177 W. Main St. (St. Rt. 125), Amelia on Tuesday, April 14 from 6:00-8:00 PM and Wednesday, April 15 from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 11:00 AM.

Interment Pierce Township Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cecil’s honor to Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 2045 Gilbert Ave , Cincinnati , Ohio 45202 .
