Resurfacing project begins on US 62X in Maysville

Nighttime paving set next week

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. – Contractors will work nights next week to repave a busy section of US 62X in Maysville.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet resurfacing project, a $455,000 job awarded recently to Eaton Asphalt Paving Co. Inc., will mean improvements to 1.2 miles of US 62X from KY 9 to Moody Drive.

Beginning Tuesday, motorists should watch for intermittent lane closures as crews remove pavement markers, mill away old asphalt and conduct other preparation work.

Full paving operations will begin next week, the week of Aug. 17, and will take place at night – between 8 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. Work was scheduled at night to alleviate traffic congestion concerns during the project, which should take about a week to complete.

During work hours, traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Motorists should watch for lane closures and “Drive Smart” through all construction zones.
