Mrs. Johnson

MOREHEAD – Eula Katherine Bumgardner Johnson, age 83, of Divide Hill, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.

She was born November 26, 1926, in Fleming County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Bart Bumgardner and Grace Pelfrey Bumgardner Nealey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Sherry Gayle McCarty and Anthony Wayne Willoughby; one sister, Sannah Richardson; two brothers, Marion Bumgardner and William Pelfrey; and a son-in-law, Harry McCarty.

Her husband, Keenis Johnson, preceded her in death on August 2, 1992.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by four daughters, Katrina McCarty of Morehead, Kentucky, Sharon McCarty and husband Gay; Pam Hollingsworth and husband Paul; and Tammy Easterling and husband Terry, all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and working crossword puzzle books. She was a member of the Ringos Mill Christian Church and attended the Little Mary Church. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder Lonnie Gregory and the Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial was in Eldridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Chris McCarty, Matthew McCarty, Chris Johnson, Kip Sluss, Eddie Sluss, and Todd Johnson.

Visitation was after 5 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Hughes

Pauline Colemire Hughes 71, of Cowan and the wife of Johnny Ray Hughes passed this life Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Mt. Sterling Hospital. Pauline was born in Nicholas County May 15, 1938 to Willie and Nettie Colemire.

Pauline is survived by her husband, Johnny Ray and two children Ricky (Anne) Hughes and Tammy Bailey (Ellis Brinegar). Five grandchildren Belinda Riley, Charlotte Hughes, Shannon Landsaw, Amber Landsaw, and Ellis Brinegar III. Two great grandchildren Brooklyn London Riley,   two sisters also survive Stella White and Margaret Jolly. One sister proceeded in death, Alice Cooley and four brothers preceeded in death  Kennith Colemire, Raymond Colemire, Lovel Colemire and Oscar Colemire . The family would like to thank a very special friend, Jowanna Fritz.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Price Brothers Funeral Home by Rev. Greg Tucker and Rev. Mike Pennington. Burial was in the Dayton Chapel Church Cemetery. Visitation was from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at Price Bros. Funeral Home.

Mr. Pollitt

Pollitt

Larry Lee Pollitt, age 61, of Flemingsburg passed away April 5, 2010. He was the son of the late Forest and Mildred Pollitt. He is survived by his wife, Martha, son Matthew of Morehead, grandson, Trent Pollitt, and granddaughter, Taryn Wallingford, both of Flemingsburg. Also surviving is a sister, Wilhemina (Tommy) Whisman of Flemingsburg, a brother, Wayne Pollitt of Ewing and Jim Pollitt of Florida and was preceded in death by another brother, Glen Pollitt, also of Florida.

Larry was a Vietnam veteran and an avid fisherman. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and has been especially honored to have had two great nephews named after him, Dustin Lee Pollitt and John Lee Black.

Visitation will be held at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home on Thursday 4-7 pm with a memorial service immediately following at 7:00 p.m, officiated by Pastor Larry T. Ingram.
