Mr. Abnee

Shy Conley Abnee, 88, a lifelong resident of Blue Licks died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at his home.

Mr. Abnee was born April 26, 1921, to Clarence and Hallie Swartz Abnee.

Mr. Abnee was a member of the Blue Licks Masonic Lodge No. 395 and the Carlisle Methodist Church.

Mr. Abnee was a pipefitter and his professional career took him around the Eastern United States on major construction projects for over 40 years. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local No. 452 of Lexington.

He is survived by one son, Conn (Barbara) Abnee; three grandchildren, Leslie Thornton, Justin (Jennifer) Abnee and Amanda (Mark) Gumbert; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Connor and Jackson Abnee; a nephew, Jerry (Lydia) Abnee of Lexington; and niece, Dorothy Earlywine of Paris.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty Jane Dollins in 2005.

Mr. Abnee leaves behind many good friends in Carlisle.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at Price Brothers Funeral home in Elizaville with services at 11 a.m., Wednesday graveside at Carlisle Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Blue Licks Masonic Lodge.
