Mr. Peyton

Vondal Ray Peyton, age 73, of Muses Mills Road, Wallingford, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 28, 2010, at his residence.

Born April 5, 1937, at Zag, Kentucky, in Morgan County, he was the son of the late Wesley Cletis Peyton and Carma Ethel Osborne Peyton.

He is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Dawn Smedley and husband Jason of Wallingford, Kentucky; five sisters, Gladys Trent of Morehead, Kentucky, Mary Peyton of New Brunswick, New Jersey, Fern McKinney of Camargo, Kentucky, Dimple Murphy and Norma Sommers, both of Fairland, Indiana.

Mr. Peyton was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served his country during the Korean War from 1955 until 1963. He was a farmer and a former mechanic with Brogan’s Chevron.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Andy Lands officiating. Burial will follow in the Peyton Cemetery in Morgan County.

Pallbearers will be Rocky Shields, Roger McKinney, Dean McKinney, Tony McKinney, Ralph Cox, and Shawn Smedley. Honorary pallbearers will be David Hamm, Rob Puckett, Carl Walton, and Steve Shields.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
