Mrs. Graves

Edna Lou Graves, 72, of Mount Olivet died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

She was born in Eubank on June 13, 1938, to the late Lora Ethel and Estel Chester Adams.

She was an assistant teacher at Deming Schools, working with beloved handicapped children.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Graves; two sons, John (Lisa) Jeffries of Jacksonville, Texas and Harvey Jeffries of Flemingsburg; four daughters, Robin (Kreager) Powers of Golden, Colo., Rhonda (Alan) Crawford of Cynthiana, Ind., Rita (Brian) Butch of Jacksonville, Fla., Snobiea (Jesse) Harn of Flemingsburg; a sister, Edith Broughton of Dayton, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Nita (Ryan) Barger of Brown County, Ohio; and a step-son, Randy Graves, of Brown County, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer Adams, Roy Adams and Ray Adams; and a granddaughter.

Memorial service 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at Denton-Workman Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Staggs officiating. Burial in Eubank Cemetery at 4 p.m., Tuesday.

Visitation 5-8 p.m., today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Helterbrand

Barbara James Compton Helterbrand, 84, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Life Care Center in Morehead.

She was born March 10, 1926, in Plummers Landing, to the late Lloyd and Mable Evans Compton.

She was the widow of Clyde Bruce Helterbrand who died April 2001.

She was a retired postmaster with the US Postal Service. She was a member of the Muses Mills Christian Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, David Helterbrand in 1992.

Survivors include children, Marsha Helterbrand, wife of the late David Hellterbrand, of Muses Mills, Michael Helterbrand of Morehead, Deborah (David) Martinat of Morehead, Timothy (Carol) Helterbrand of Morehead, Mark (Dixie) Helterbrand of Tollesboro, Rebekah (Harold) Montgomery of Muses Mills, Rachel Lashbrooke of Muses Mills, Nicolas (Teresa) Helterbrand of Muses Mills, Jonathan Helterbrand of Muses Mills, Joseph Helterbrand of Muses Mills; a brother, Charles (Mary) Compton of Mason, Ohio; sisters, Patricia (Eugene) Newsom of Muses Mills, and Gloria Compton Chinn of Vanceburg; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren

Services were Sunday Feb. 6, 2011, at Muses Mills Christian Holiness Church.

Burial  followed  in the Muses Mills Cemetery.

Mr. Fryman

Woodrow "Woodie" Thompson Fryman, 70, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

He was born April 12, 1940, and leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Phyllis Fryman.

He was preceded in death by his parents Woodrow and Almedia Fryman; a brother, Cecil Fryman; a sister, Patsy Mitchell; and a grandson, Jeromy Keith Fryman.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jeff (Tammy) Fryman and Patrick Fryman. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Shaun, Courtney, Trey, Ryan and Payton Fryman; a very special great-granddaughter, Delaney Grayce Hall; and one sister, Nona Dillon.

Funeral services 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville. Burial in Elizaville Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Shaun Fryman, Trey Fryman, Ryan Fryman, Greg Himes, Kash Grimes, Ronnie Littleton, Fred Rose and Raymond Fryman. Honorary pallbearers are Courtney Fryman, Delaney Hall and Payton Fryman.

Visitation 5 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at the funeral home.
