Paving on Nepton Road (KY 1200) starts Monday


Traffic delays likely

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. – Contractors will resurface more than four miles of Nepton Road (KY 1200) in Fleming County beginning Monday, Nov. 9.

Traffic delays are likely during work hours, approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., as paving takes place between KY 559 and the Mason County line. Motorists should seek alternate routes if possible, and “Drive Smart” in all work zones. Work is expected to finish Tuesday, Nov. 10, weather permitting.

The resurfacing project is being done through a $188,666.38 highway improvement contract awarded to H.G. Mays Corp.

Lois Marie Hunt, 73, ex-wife of the late Jewel B. Tucker Sr. of 650 Peacock Road in Paris, was born February 26, 1936, and left this world peacefully to be with Jesus at 9:45 am on November 4, 2009, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.

Lois is survived by three children, Jewel B. and Joann Tucker, Jr., Timothy Mark Tucker and Paula and daughter Carla Taulbee; six grandchildren, Chrystal Tucker Hondall and Cesar Hondall, Eric Tucker, Leslie Buckler, Danielle Tucker, Joe Tucker, and Bree Jones; two greatgrandchildren, Jake and Hayden Hondall; one brother, Roy Cledith Reed and wife Helen of Indiana; and her two beloved pets, Princess and Skettles.

Lois is preceded in death by Jewel B. Tucker, Sr., James Wilford and Betty Reed Belle Reed of Ohio, Harley Fletcher Reed of Paris and Walter Dale Reed of Fleming County, and one sister Mabel C. Reed Schum of Fleming County. Lois was a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Christian Church and worked at the Whitestar and Burdens Restaurants in Paris.

Pall bearers are Jewel B. Tucker, Jr., Timothy Mark Rucker, Eric Tucker, Joe Tucker, Cesar Hondall, Lester Tucker, and Brandon Stidham. Honorary pall bearers are Jeff Tucker, Earl Munday, and Danny Tucker.

Funeral services are at 2 pm Saturday, November 7, at Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville by Rev. Kim Smith. Burial will be in Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 pm Friday at Price Brothers.
