Mr. Dye

Omar Frank Dye, 76, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 at Fleming County Hospital.

He was born June 12, 1934, to the late Leland and Rettie Belle Dye.

He was a lifelong farmer raising over 56 crops of tobacco.

He was married to the former Madeline F. Ackley in May of 1974.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Evelyn Dye Helphenstine and Margaret Black

Survivors include his wife, Madeline F. Dye; two sons, Ken Dye of Flemingsburg and Frank (Sandy) Dye of Lewes, Del.; two special people who were like sons to Omar, Eddie Dye Helphenstine and Mark Follmer; three grandchildren, Tiffany Dye of Flemingsburg, Stephanie Marshall of Galloway, Ohio, and Brandon Lee Dye of Millsboro, Del.

Services were at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at the New Life Church of Christ with Bro. Darrin Fizer and Bro. Hillary Underwood officiating.

Mr. Carter

Brent Carter, age 24 of Veterans Lane, Morehead, Kentucky, formerly of Fleming County, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011, at the Community Hospice Care in Ashland, Kentucky, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident on July 11, 2009, in Carter County.

He was born December 2, 1986 in Rowan County, Kentucky, and is the son of Tina Hamm Walton and husband Bobby of Morehead, Kentucky, and Calvin Carter of West Liberty.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Harlie Carter of Bath County, two sisters, Michelle Carter of Olive Hill, and Allison Walton of Morehead, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. One son, Dakota Carter, preceded him in death.

Brent was a former construction worker as a concrete finisher and attended Fleming County High School. He also enjoyed 4-wheeling.

Funeral services were conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers officiating. Burial followed in Glenwood Hollow Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Purvis, Ben Hamm, Johnny Reed, Donnie Jones, Matthew Ramey, and Travis Hamm.
