Mr. Gardner

Charles N. Gardner, 94, of Flemingsburg died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home.

He was born Sept. 10, 1915, in Fleming County to the late Charles and Mabel Gardner.

He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lee Kennedy Gardner; and a granddaughter, Dana Humphries.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Steve) Humphries and Wanda (Larry) Fearin of Fleming County; four grandchildren, Lee Ann (Willie) Conn, Lori (Richie) Keilman and Michael (Cathy) Carpenter, all of Fleming County, and Jennifer (Tim) Worley of Mount Sterling; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters; Ivy Thomas and Elizabeth "Sister" Sales of Ohio and Evelyn Eads of Florida.

Services at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, Flemingsburg. Burial in the Mount Carmel Cemetery with military rites by the W.N.Fant American Legion Post No. 5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
