Lady Cats take District Title

FLEMINGSBURG -- Gerald Dean "Joe Hop" Hopper, 63, of Flemingsburg died Monday evening, March 1, 2010, at the Fleming County Hospital.

Mr. Hopper was a retired auto body mechanic.

He was born June 17, 1946, in Fleming County to the late Leona Hopper.

He is survived by his wife, Nina Gulley Hopper of Flemingsburg; one son, Christopher (Cathey) Hopper of Lewis County; two daughters, Teresa (Shannon) Himes and Lisa (Mike) Vise, all of Flemingsburg; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his companion, Charlie the poodle.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Hord Wayne Hopper; a son-in-law, Mike Rigdon; and three infant children.

Services are 1 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2010, at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home in Flemingsburg. Rev. James Ray Hickerson and Rev. Clay Miller Jr. will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery.

Visitation is after 6 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
