Mr. Ison

Donnie Ison, age 74, of Morehead Road, Wallingford, Kentucky, a native of Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.

He was born February 8, 1937, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late George W. Ison and Rissie Alice Adkins Ison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Donald “Pete” Ison; two brothers, Arnold Ison and Earl Ison; and two sisters, Loretta Sparkman and Eva Ann Ison Kissick.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lahoma Eldridge Ison, whom he married March 19, 1964; two sons, Jimmy Ison of Morehead, Kentucky, and George Ison of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; one daughter, Donna Ison of Toledo, Ohio; and six grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, James Ison, Rev. Cecil Ison and Ival Ison, all of Morehead, Kentucky; two sisters, Darlene Morehouse of Batavia, Ohio, and Carol Foster of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Donnie was retired from Fannin’s Ashland after more than 20 years of service.

Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Ison and the Rev. Gary Madden officiating. Burial was in the Clearfield Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Eddie Ison, Glenn Ison, Mike Ison, Jeff Kissick, John Wolfenbarger, and Don Ward.

Visitation was after 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Chapman

Mrs. Addie Mae Chapman of Energy Road, Flemingsburg went to be with God on April 9, 2011, at her residence.

Addie was the daughter of the late Tommy and Mignon Harmon Emmons, born in Mason County Oct. 27, 1935.

She was a lifelong farmer and housewife and was known as the best cook in Fleming County.

Addie is survived by her children, Arnold (Linda) Dodge, Vennedra (James) Farrow and Connie (Bobby) Gray, all of Fleming County; and grandchildren, Austin Venness, Kristie Dodge, Robert Douglas Dodge, Justin Austin (Sarah) Farrow, McKaylee Raine Gray, Austin Thorne Gray, Charles A. Hunt, Melinda H. Peck and Peggy R. Gilkrist; great-grandchildren, Kailyn Ashley Dodge, Mathew Lee Dodge, Austin James (AJ) Taytum and Kinley Farrow; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also two sisters, Emma (John) Adams and Jeanie Rader survive.

Addie was preceded in death by her parents and all of her brothers, Lester Allen Emmons, Willie Thomas Emmons, and sisters, Elsie Gray, Dona Roberts, Ann Muse, Mildred Fields and Mabel Plummer.

Addie loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, farming and square dancing.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday at Price Brothers Funeral Home with Brother John Adams and Rev. Rich Anderson officiating.

She will be laid to rest in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 4-6 p.m. for the family and 6-9 p.m. for the public.
