Mrs. Helphinstine

Clara Mae Helphinstine, 94, of Metcalf Mill Road, Ewing, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at her residence. Clara Mae was born in New Castle, Ind., May 14, 1915 to Minnie Eckert and Harvey Marshall.

Clara Mae was a housewife and is survived by her husband, William E. “Bud” Helphinstine, one son, William R. “Bob” Helphinstine of Ewing and two grandchildren, William Christopher Helphinstine of Dayton, Ohio, and Robin Clarlyn Moore of Xenia, Ohio.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Price Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Gaylord Gillespie officiating. Burial will be in the Elizaville cemetery.

Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Price Brothers.

Mr. Ridner

Frederick Joseph Ridner, 87, of Ewing, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 36 years, Betty (Leach) Ridner in 1998, his parents, a sister and brother-in-law and one grandson, Eric Baker.

Frederick is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Annette and Fred Bach and Lynette Givens, all of Trotwood, Ohio; one son and daughter-in-law, Darin and Gale Ridner of Ewing; six grandchildren, Ponce and his wife Chandra Bach, James and his wife Kimmi Bach, Gregory Givens, Janet Givens, Ashlee Ridner, and Tanesha Duncan; 11 great-grandchildren, special friend Bonita Eller and her daughter Cathy and granddaughter Katelyn.

Frederick’s funeral tribute will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 21, at the Tobias Funeral Home in Englewood, Ohio. Burial will follow in Bear Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Emmons

Billie "Bill" Nelson Emmons, 61, of Nepton Road was called home on Nov. 17, 2009, after a sudden illness. He died at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Mr. Emmons was born Nov. 26, 1947, in Fleming County to the late Clyde Emmons and Viola McKee Emmons.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Williams Emmons.
He was a construction worker for Saunders Construction.
After graduating from Fleming County High School in 1967, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. After serving in the war he coached football in Fleming County and met the love of his life, Nancy Williams to which he spent 36 loving years, loving and providing for her. They shared three wonderful children, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was a devout member of the Victory Assembly of God in Flemingsburg for several years and the Blue Licks Assembly of God for the past two years. He was a hunter, a fisherman and a carpenter for 31 years and a lover of music, often lending his voice to the Sunday service.
The love he had for his children didn't stop there as he became a father figure once again to five of his grandchildren. Billie believed and held on to the faith that his wonderful mother instilled in him, without her he wouldn't have been the great man he was. He knew that God would provide the strength and guidance that he needed throughout his life. He led by example and was a friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Williams Emmons; his mother, Viola McKee Emmons; a son, Troy (Rachel) Emmons of Fleming County; two daughters, Teri Emmons Humphrey of Cincinnati, and Lesliey Emmons (Jason) McKee of Maysville; three sisters, Brenda (Larry) Hill of Fleming County, Connie (Donald) Dugan of Fleming County, Melody (Walt) Barron of Fredricktown, Mo.; two brothers, Eddie (Debbie) Emmons of Fleming County and Keith (Janet) Emmons of Campbell County; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at the Denton-Workman Funeral Home in Flemingsburg. Rev. Ron Spencer and Rev. Larry Hill will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery with graveside military rites.
Visitation is after 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jackson

Louise Jackson, 89, of Evans Sisters Road, Hillsboro died Nov. 19, 2009, in Ripley, Ohio.
She was born in Lancaster on June 13, 1920, to the late Charles Hawley and Polly Wells Hawley.
Louise was an inspector for U.S. Shoe Corporation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Jackson.
She is survived by a son, Jerry (Sylvia) Jackson of Omaha, Neb., two daughters, Karen (Steve) Brown of Flemingsburg, and Sharon (Bob) King of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Rodney W. Marshall of Miamisburg, Ohio, Dana (Pete) Updike of Bentonville, Ariz., Troy Jackson of Omaha, Julie (Ronnie) Adams of May's Lick, Jeremy (Denise) Brown of Ewing and Jody Brown of Cincinnati; two step-grandchildren, Lisa (John) Jefferies of Jacksonville, Texas and Bobby King of Flemingsburg; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m., Sunday, at the Denton-Workman Funeral Home, Flemingsburg. Rev. Norman Wasson will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park, Flemingsburg.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, at the funeral home.
