Mr. Emmons

Billie "Bill" Nelson Emmons, 61, of Nepton Road was called home on Nov. 17, 2009, after a sudden illness. He died at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Mr. Emmons was born Nov. 26, 1947, in Fleming County to the late Clyde Emmons and Viola McKee Emmons.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Williams Emmons.
He was a construction worker for Saunders Construction.
After graduating from Fleming County High School in 1967, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. After serving in the war he coached football in Fleming County and met the love of his life, Nancy Williams to which he spent 36 loving years, loving and providing for her. They shared three wonderful children, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was a devout member of the Victory Assembly of God in Flemingsburg for several years and the Blue Licks Assembly of God for the past two years. He was a hunter, a fisherman and a carpenter for 31 years and a lover of music, often lending his voice to the Sunday service.
The love he had for his children didn't stop there as he became a father figure once again to five of his grandchildren. Billie believed and held on to the faith that his wonderful mother instilled in him, without her he wouldn't have been the great man he was. He knew that God would provide the strength and guidance that he needed throughout his life. He led by example and was a friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Williams Emmons; his mother, Viola McKee Emmons; a son, Troy (Rachel) Emmons of Fleming County; two daughters, Teri Emmons Humphrey of Cincinnati, and Lesliey Emmons (Jason) McKee of Maysville; three sisters, Brenda (Larry) Hill of Fleming County, Connie (Donald) Dugan of Fleming County, Melody (Walt) Barron of Fredricktown, Mo.; two brothers, Eddie (Debbie) Emmons of Fleming County and Keith (Janet) Emmons of Campbell County; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at the Denton-Workman Funeral Home in Flemingsburg. Rev. Ron Spencer and Rev. Larry Hill will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery with graveside military rites.
Visitation is after 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at the funeral home.
