Panthers 28, West Carter 25

The Fleming County Panthers defeated West Carter 28-25 in the homecoming game Friday evening in Flemingsburg. Details will be in the Gazette next Wednesday. The Panthers improve to 4-3 overall, and play Newport in their final home game next Friday.

Mrs. Jamison

Emma Jane Moore Jamison, age 88, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at the Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg.
She was born March 26, 1921, in Bath County, and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Blanche Basford Moore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Grace Crawford, Lula Ratliff, Pearl Lewis, Jess Moore, Mona Miller, Ruth Miller and Albert Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elwood R. Jamison on May 31, 1998; and a daughter, Patty Sue Jamison.

Mrs. Jamison is survived by one son, Woodie Jamison and daughter-in-law, Rebecca "Judy" Jamison of Hillsboro; and two granddaughters, Emily and Elizabeth.
Mrs. Jamison was a homemaker and member of the Grange City Christian Church.
Services will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at the Hutton Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Gross officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sammy Miller, Robbie Miller, Ryan Miller, Bill Jolly, Ross Jolly, Andrew Jolly, Danny Crawford and Keith Moore.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m., today, Oct. 10, 2009, at Hutton Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
