FLEMINGSBURG -- Juanita Ruth Moran Gaines, 84, of Elizaville Avenue, Flemingsburg died Feb. 25, 2010. She was born August 7, 1925, in Fleming County to the late Frank and Maurine Moran. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Gaines. Mrs. Gaines was a dispatcher for the Fleming-Mason RECC. She was a member of the Fleming County Hospital Auxiliary, Rebekah Lodge and CWF.
She is survived by one son, Bill (Sherry) Gaines of Shepherdsville and one daughter, Bobbie McCoy of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Sue (Terry) Brooks of Mason County; six grandchildren, Billy Gaines, Melissa Benfield, Sara Elizabeth Gaines, Staci Lockey, Jennifer Waldrop and Kenny McCoy; four great-grandchildren, Lilly Lockey, Liberty Waldrop, Vincent Benfield, and Paige Benfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn (Moran) Peck and Mabel (Moran) Jackson; and two brothers, James "Jake" Clifton Moran and Bernard "Nardy" Franklin Moran.
Services Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at 1 p.m., at the Denton-Workman Funeral Home in Flemingsburg. Rev. Norman Wasson and Rev. Pete Morgan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Flemingsburg Christian Church, Fleming County Hospital Auxiliary or the Hospice of Hope.
