Mr. Taylor

Palmer Pryor Taylor, 93, died Nov. 2, 2010 at his home with his loved ones by his side. He was the husband of the late Geneva Oney Taylor, who died Aug. 3, 1993.

He was born in Tazewell, Tenn., on June 27, 1917, the seventh son of the late Orville and Emma Farmer Taylor.

He was well known throughout the community and never met a stranger. He was a man of his word, honest and soft spoken. He loved his family. He was a farmer and loved his cows. He was a member of the Flemingsburg Baptist Church where he was a former deacon, Sunday school teacher and superintendent.

He is survived by three daughters, Christine Applegate, Sue Mitchell and Linda (Scott) Manning; two sons, Terry (Brenda) Taylor and Paul (Nellie) Taylor; several grandchildren, Shannon (Aspen) Taylor, Wayne (Lisa) Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, Christi (Jerry) Kesterson, Paula (Billy) Fryman, Dana Sue (Bo) McVey and Kelsey Taylor; and several great-grandchildren, Austin Taylor, Chase Taylor, Hannah Kesterson, Ethan Mitchell, Mackenzie Fryman and Zackary Fryman.

He was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Daniel Taylor; a son-in-law, Clyde Applegate; seven brothers, Issac, Leonard, Horace, Harm, Donald, Aaron and Neil; and three sisters, Ethal, Alice and Jewell.

Services are Thursday, Nov. 4, 1 p.m., at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home. Dr. Christopher Beckham will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Shannon Taylor, Wayne Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, Scott Manning, Jerry Kesterson, Billy Fryman and Stephen Story.

Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of the Flemingsburg Baptist Church.

Visitation is today, Nov. 3, 2010, 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Road, Maysville, Ky. 41056.
