Mr. Vice

Jerry Wayne Vice, 64, of Tilton Road, Flemingsburg died Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at his residence.

Mr. Vice was born Jan. 14, 1947, in Mason County to the late Floyd Vice of Bath County and Frances Dudley Jordan Vice of Mason County.

Mr. Vice was a lifelong resident of Flemingsburg and Tollesboro.

A 1965 graduate of Tollesboro High School, Mr. Vice played basketball for the Tollesboro Wildcats from 1962 to 1965. He served two years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Mr. Vice was the former owner and operator of Vice's Valley View Service Station in Flemingsburg and owned Vice's Trucking.He was an auto mechanic and truck driver. He enjoyed late model car racing and owned the white V1 car and loved to listen to gospel music. He attended Tilton Christian Church.

Mr. Vice is survived by two children, Timothy Vice of Flemingsburg and Shea Vice (Kristian Ishmael) of Louisville; four grandchildren, Courtney Nicole Vice, Shannon Justice, Shane Vice and Nathaniel Humfleet; two brothers, Danny (Mary Lynn) Vice of Fleming County and Stephen (Edna) Vice of Tollesboro; two sisters, Sandra (Donnie) Gilbert of Maysville and Pamela (Tim) Perkins of Tollesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Services 11 a.m. Tuesday at Barbour and Son Funeral Home at 3378 West Tollesboro. Bro. Jim Wilson and Bro. Silas Ripato officiating. Burial will be in Flemingsburg Cemetery.

Visitation 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Brown, Kirby Wright, Ronnie Helphinstine, Bill Castle, Paul Younce, Darrell Polley, Josh Vice and Derek Perkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Taylor and Jimmy Parrish, an Army friend from Alabama.
