Mr. Little

Jack Little, 78, of Virgie, Ky., father of Flemingsburg Gazette editor Danetta Barker, passed away Feb. 11 at the Pikeville Medical Center.

He was born July 8, 1930, in Pike County to Marion and Lydia Little. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanette; three daughters, Debra (Lawrence) Bartley, Danetta (Garry) Barker, Dianna (Zack) Howell; and by one son Dale (Ruby) Little.

He is also survived by grandchildren Seth Mullins, Tony Bartley, Christopher Bartley, Mariah Smith, Patrick Smith, Maggie Little, Taylor Howell, and Zachary Howell; great-grandchildren Rachel Bartley, Cody Bartley, Keith Mullins, and James Jackson Mullins.; and by his mother-in-law Lucille Hamby.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Sue Howard; one son, Michael Wayne, and three grandsons, Shane Mullins, Curry Byrd, and Nathaniel Jack Little.

Mr. Little was a avid hunter and loved to walk the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.

The mountains have called back their own. Jack Little has passed away from this earth. He hunted these hills, roamed the ridges and loved the land. He was one of the last of the mountain men

Visitation for Mr. Little is after 5 pm Thursday and Friday at Hall and Jones Funeral Home in Virgie, Ky., after 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Services are at 12 Noon Saturday, Feb. 14.
