Mr. Colgan

Donald "Sonny" Colgan, 79, of Flemingsburg died Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Fleming County Hospital ER in Flemingsburg.
He is survived by his wife of 78 years, Nancy Talley Colgan.
Mr. Colgan was the director of the Fleming County Health Department for more than 50 years, a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Citizen of the Year, past president of Kiwanis, State Board of Health member, and Main Street committee, Kentucky Colonel, Fleming County Hospital Committee member, Ambulance Board, charter member of Fleming County Golf Course, involved with basketball in Fleming County, as well as serving as the eighth grade basketball coach for several years.
Mr. Colgan is also survived by his son, John Martin (Eva) Colgan of Flemingsburg; two daughters, Teresa (Jon) Mitchell of Flemingsburg and Donita (Dennis) Forte of Flemingsburg); three grandchildren, Michael Ryan Mitchell, Stephen Shane Mitchell and Aarron Michael Forte; and two great-granddaughters, Kendall and Braden Mitchell.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Denton-Workman Funeral Home. Rev. Norman Wasson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Fleming County Cemetery.
