Mrs. McClurg

Minnie Lou Jimison McClurg, 82, of Soldier, passed away Monday, October 26, 2009 at her home.

She was born on July 15, 1927 in Fleming County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late John William Jimison and Permelia Ann Hyatt Jimison.

Mrs. McClurg was a homemaker.  She was of the Church of God Faith and enjoyed raising flowers and vegetables, cooking, baking and collecting figurines.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Jackson McClurg, one son, Gordon McClurg, two daughters, Starr Henderson and Claire Hope Thompson Binion, two brothers, Dewey Jimison and Jim Jimison, two grandsons, Nick Oney and Tommy Arthurs and one great-granddaughter, Susan Long.

Survivors include two sons, Chet McClurg and Terry McClurg and one daughter, Anita Barker all of Soldier, sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 29, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Delmar Logan, Jr. officiating.   Burial was in the Caudill Cemetery at Sharkey. 

Pallbearers were Steve Henderson, Kenneth Henderson, Terry Henderson, Jr. Griggs, Allen McClurg and Josh Flannery and Jake Layne served as an honorary pallbearer.
