Construction to close lane of KY 11 in downtown Flemingsburg

Detour will be established

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has granted a permit to the Fleming County Fiscal Court to temporarily close one lane of West Water Street (KY 11) in downtown Flemingsburg.

The lane closure is necessary to protect the traveling public due to construction of the Fleming County Justice Center, which is in close proximity to the state highway.

Beginning Monday, March 1, the northbound lane of West Water Street will be closed from Main Cross to West Main Street. The lane closure will remain in effect for up to 60 days as crews with Trace Creek Construction conduct sidewalk replacement and other work at the site.

During the closure, contractors and local authorities will detour all traffic along the following route:

· Northbound West Water Street (KY 11) traffic – including KY 57 traffic seeking access to north KY 11 – must take North Main Cross Street around the courthouse to West Main Street, then continue on West Main to return to West Water Street. Detour signs will be posted.

All southbound West Water Street traffic will continue unimpeded as the southbound lane will remain open at all times.
