Silas Eugene Hicks

1937 - 2010

Silas Eugene Hicks, 73, of Hillsboro , Kentucky, died Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Florida.

Mr. Hicks was born January 15, 1937, in Greenup County, Kentucky and formerly lived in Oldtown, Kentucky. He was a retired Armco Steel worker, an Air Force veteran, and a Mason for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Elaine Hicks, and his parents, Vernon and Ida Howard Hicks.

Survivors include a daughter, Wyenona Hicks of Memphis, Tennessee; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Mac McCauley of Cynthiana, Kentucky; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Patricia Hicks of Chesapeake, Ohio; one sister, Zola White of Cocoa Beach, Florida; one brother, Paul Hicks of Goldthwaite, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a special companion, Marge Lewis; extended family; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Kentucky, on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. Graveside services and burial will be held at East Carter County Memory Gardens in Grayson, Kentucky. Masonic services will be conducted at the graveside by Grayson Masonic Lodge No. 154.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
